Stolen Farm Machinery Recovered |

Stolen farm machinery was quickly recovered in Newark, while a suspect was put before the courts.
Newark Response Colleagues spotted a telehandler with no number plates displayed or beacon light activated travelling on the A1 near Balderton, around 5.40pm on 1st March.
After the vehicle aroused their suspicions, they pulled it over and a suspect was detained.
Some excellent teamwork between Response Officers and the Newark Neighbourhood Policing Team quickly identified that the telehandler had been stolen from a #Lincolnshire farm.
The vehicle was duly returned undamaged to its rightful owner, who hadn’t realised up to that point it had been taken at all.
Lee Severn, of Newnham Road, #Newark, has been charged with handling stolen goods, driving without insurance and driving without a licence.
The 48-year-old has been remanded into custody and is next due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on 12th August.
PC Joseph Krawiecki, of Newark's Response Team, said: “This was an extremely efficient response by our officers that managed to return the telehandler to its owner before he even realised it had gone missing. “This was all made possible thanks to some excellent teamwork between response officers and our Newark Neighbourhood Policing Team. “Stamping out rural crime also often involves working with our colleagues across the border, so I hope this incident shows we are tackling rural crime head-on all across our region. “I recognise the significant impact rural crime has on those living, working and visiting the area, and it will never be tolerated in Nottinghamshire.”
